🦫 For kids: Grid North doesn't know who you are, and it never will.
Grid North collects nothing. No accounts, sign-up, email, ads, analytics, tracking or cookies.
No chat. Kids never type anything to anyone.
No microphone and no camera, ever.
The game sends nothing to us or to any other company. The app doesn't even ask for internet access.
To remember progress, the game saves a few things in the app's own storage (or, on the website, the browser's own storage). They never leave the device, and the app turns off cloud backup for them:
Erase it all with the "Erase everything on this device" button on the game's Privacy for families page, by uninstalling the app, or (on the website) by clearing the site's data in the browser. Another device starts fresh.
Beaver names (like "Brave Orca") and level names are picked from word lists, so a real name can't be used. Challenge, level and proof codes hold only preset choices: a map, a money setting, a beaver's look and word-name, and a game's moves. A code that doesn't decode to those choices is rejected. A code goes only where you choose to send it, by copying it yourself. Once it's in a message app, that app's own privacy rules apply.
Bea talks using voices already on the device, so nothing is sent anywhere. If a device has no such voice, she stays quiet and her words just show on screen. The game never listens.
None. The lettering and pictures are built into the game, and it doesn't load anything from other websites. The app works with no internet connection. The app store you got it from (Google Play or Apple's App Store) handles the download under its own privacy policy. Grid North adds no tracking, analytics or advertising code from them or anyone else.
On the website, the web host that delivers the game file, like any website host, may keep basic technical logs (such as an IP address and the time of the visit) for security. We don't use them to identify or follow players.
Grid North is made for kids, including kids under 13. It's built so that nothing personal is collected, which means there is nothing to ask permission for, and nothing to sell, share, advertise with or leak. If we ever add something that would need information (for example, playing live with friends), we will update this page first. A parent will have to say yes before any child can use it.
If this page changes, the date at the top changes too. Questions? Write to support@calls.tech.
Grid North is made by NYLE-INVEST INC. It is an independent educational game, not affiliated with the Government of Canada or Build Canada.
